How to Recycle Your Empty Tanks

When your tank is completely empty, make sure you have all supplies needed, and follow these steps to recycle.


  • Hammer
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Protective gloves and eyewear
  • Permanent marker


  1. Ensure your Balloon Time Helium Tank is completely empty by pushing down on the black nozzle.

  2. Unscrew the white nut and remove the black nozzle from the tank.

  3. Put on safety gear.

  4. Using a hammer and screwdriver, knock out the round disk on the back of the tank.

  5. Draw a circle around the knocked-out portion of the tank and mark it as “Empty.”

  6. Place the empty tank in the recycle bin or drop it off at a local recycling center. *Contact your local waste authority for more information on proper disposal.
