This Project Is Part Of The “READY, SET, SPLASH!” Pool Party Series.
Balloons are the perfect party favors for kids! But how about letting them build their own? Set up a build-your-own balloon bar where they can blow up balloons and decorate their own balloon weight. The kids will be happy as… flamingos?
- Balloon Time Helium Tank
- Variety of balloons
- Variety of string, ribbon and trim
- Air dry clay
- Cookie cutters
- Rolling pin
- Paint and paintbrushes
- Before the party, prepare your balloon weights. Roll out your air dry clay to about 1/2” thickness. Cut out various shapes (we created flamingos, of course). Poke a hole with a paintbrush through the top of each shape and let dry completely according to the package instructions. Typically this is 24 hours, so be sure to leave enough time before the party.
- On the day of the party, set up your balloon bar. Place a variety of uninflated balloons on the table, along with a selection of cute ribbon, string and trims. Add your balloon weights alongside a selection of paint and paintbrushes, too. Lastly, place your Balloon Time Helium Tank on the table so kids can blow up their balloons and get started. Kids can choose a trim and paint their own balloon weight to make sure their fancy balloon never flies away!
Free Printable Invitation
Prepare guests for the water with these free printable pool party invitations. To print, you can buy already made blank note cards and print directly on them. To do this, print the template once on regular computer paper. Then, using masking tape, tape the note cards overtop each invitation you printed and then feed the paper back through the inkjet printer. Ta-da! Alternatively, you can print on 8.5×11” cardstock and cut out.
