Party, Styling, Text and Photos by Confetti Sunshine

Create a flying high airplane cake topper to take center stage at your boy or girl’s birthday party. The cake topper will make a homemade or store-bought cake stand out.

Instructions:

  1. Use the hot glue gun to adhere the toy airplanes to the top of lollipop sticks.
  2. Inflate a small bouquet of 5-inch balloons with helium and tie with string.
  3. Tie the balloon bouquet to a lollipop stick.

Place balloons and airplanes on the cake to create the illusion of planes flying through the clouds. Top the cake with birthday candles, and you are ready to go! Note, fill the balloons right before the party so they continue to fly high.
